Prez to open JSS Free School Girls hostel

Pratibha Patil, the President of India, is all set to inaugurate the JSS Free School Girls' Hostel building in Suttur near Mysore. The inauguration is slated to take place on May 9. Built at a cost of Rs.8 crores, the hostel is designed to accommodate up to 2,000 students.

 B.N. Betkerur, Executive Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, announced that the Medical College Silver Jubilee seminar would be inaugurated by President Patil.
Mr. Betkerur added:

We will organize a seminar on development of sustainable rural health to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of the JSS Medical College.

The free school was set up in 2001. At present, about 4,000 students from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharasthra, Andhra Pradesh and north-eastern states are being imparted education in this school.
