Tamil Nadu pins hopes on MCI recognition to two colleges

Tamil Nadu Health Minister MRK Panneerselvam said the state was awaiting recognition of Medical Council of India (MCI) for two medical colleges, one in Tiruvarur and another in Villupuram.
With this recognition 200 more MBBS seats would be available to the state in the very first round of counseling.
An MCI team had carried on an elaborate inspection of these two colleges. The verdict of the team will be available by June-end. While addressing reporters, the minister hoped that both the colleges would be duly recognised.
