Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to launch the nano satellite, 'Jugnu', in December 2009. The satellite, designed by the Indian Institute of Technology,

Kanpur (IIT-K), will be sent from its regular site Sriharikota and will be put in the Polar Orbit.

The decision to launch ‘Jugnu’ by IIT-K was taken when ISRO was presented with a 2nd design review by the IIT-K authorities.

Sanjay Govind Dhande, Director of IIT-K, said, "We had signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project with ISRO in February. The ISRO has been doing regular review sessions to check the progress of the ambitious project."

Dhande added, "The ISRO authorities were explained about the Release Mechanism and Antenna Mechanism by the technical team of the project."
