With steely nerve Bokaro emerges coaching hub for IIT aspirants

The city known for its steel company in the country, Bokaro, has emerged a coaching hub Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). A total of 381 students from Bokaro, a record in itself, made it to the IIT this year cracking the most competitive entrance exam of the country, IIT-JEE .

The city is dotted by a number of quality schools with excellent faculty proved its steely nerve in achieving this feat.

Sanjay Tewary, chief of communications of Bokaro Steel Plant, has this to say about the saga of success: “Since most Bokaro Steel employees are educated, they see to it that their children excel in studies. And since they work in an industrial environment, they prefer IITs or other engineering institutes.”

Ashok Singh, a mathematician of repute and authored many textbooks, says Bokaro has the best teachers in science subjects which is the envy of many of the big cities.

“Unless you have quality teachers how can you produce quality students? Bokaro has the unique privilege of having the best teachers working at several schools and coaching centres,” said Singh.
