Launched just last Monday, Delhi University admission helpline has become an instant hit among students with queries about details of the programmes on offer in the university.
Most of the calls that the university receives from students pertain to information regarding courses in journalism and mass communication.
Some of the DU affiliated colleges conduct journalism course both in Hindi and English journalism. Indraprastha College for Women is the lone institution to offer a degree course in Mass Media and Mass Communication.
Ravneet Kaur, a student counsel has this to say: "We have received several queries from students to know about the entrance examination and how to apply for journalism and mass communication."
A 20-strong team of counselors are manning the helpline with the help of faculty members.
Queries regarding admission to English (Honours) are the most frequent after that for journalism and mass communication. A Common Aptitude Test for English (CATE) has been evolved by the university authorities. School-leaving marks used to be the basis for admission to the English (Honours) last year.
Contact numbers of the counselors are as follows:
North Campus: 27662507 and 27662508
