In a bid to meet the state's growing IT demands, the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) has signed a pact with Oracle, which would see the latter imparting IT education to 2000 students and 150 faculty members over the next three years.

The deal will have Oracle Academy providing its software, academic curriculum, hosted technology, educator training, support and certification resources to the students and faculty from the state.

Faculty members from various engineering colleges will be selected as instructors under a program called 'train-the-trainer', through which they will be trained and then be assigned to train other faculty members and students. The instructors will be provided with training related to database foundations, database design and SQL programming.

CEO of TASK Sujiv Naid said that the resources from Oracle will help the state get better equipped with emerging technologies to meet the increasing demands of IT industry.

Speaking about the tie-up, Oracle India Managing Director Shailender Kumar viewed that it's the perfect example for how the technology sector can work in alliance with state government initiatives for providing feasible solutions to the skills gap challenge.

Oracle has been associated with similar campaigns over 110 countries in the world, providing its resources to over 3.1 million students across the globe.
