Maharashtra extends deadline for law admissions to Nov 12

The state CET cell on Thursday released a circular making it clear that the deadline for confirmation of first-year law admissions has been extended till 6 pm on November 12. This move comes after several city colleges received panic calls from students who were yet to confirm their admissions and could not as the banks remained shut on Wednesday.

Technically, the last day for this process was Thursday, November 10, but students can now complete this process by Friday and colleges have time till Saturday evening to finish the process at the institutional level.

“Most colleges only accept demand drafts and even though banks are open today, none of them are open to the process of making demand drafts. Therefore it’s a very good decision by the government to extend the deadline till Saturday,” said the principal of a suburban law college. She added that many parents have also approached the college with cheques, which the college has agreed to accept due to the situation.

The circular is now available on the state CET cell website, mhtcet2016.co.in

Some colleges have also started accepting online payments today onwards.
