With more and more parents across the county taking their children – even babies – in for chiropractic care, there are still questions as to why they may need care, if it is safe for children, and what the benefits are.

The Chiropractic Society of Wisconsin, along with Doctors of Chiropractic across the state and in Menomonie, have expanded their efforts to educate parents on the role chiropractic care can play in the overall healthcare of kids.

In the last decade, with almost every kid using handheld devices to communicate, play games or watch videos, the prevalence of “text neck” has become a serious orthopedic issue and a big concern for chiropractors.

Chiropractors help relieve some of these issues by re-aligning the spine, teaching better posture habits, and helping parents to better understand the long term effects of this “heads down” lifestyle.

A healthy spine and nervous system means a healthy functioning body. The spine houses the nervous system and the nervous system is the “master control system” that runs the body.

Because October is Chiropractic Month, on Thursday, Oct. 27, there will be educational events taking place throughout the state of Wisconsin. In Dunn County, several chiropractors will come together to educate the community about the importance of chiropractic care and why all children need to be checked by a chiropractor.
