The Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan has released an admission notification inviting applications from interested, eligible candidates to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in the below mentioned disciplines for the academic session 2017.
- Biotechnology and Bioinformatics
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Mathematics and Physics
- Materials Science and Civil Engineering
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
Candidates interested in applying for this programme should be holding an MTech degree of a university or equivalent, for PhD in engineering/technology/sciences/humanities/social sciences/management/pharmacy in respective branch, with 60 per cent aggregate marks or CGPA not less than 6 on scale of 10.
They must have a consistently good academic record/performance with first division all through; i.e. 60 per cent aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA of not less than 6 on a scale of 10 at undergraduate and post graduate level.
Selection procedure:
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of a PhD entrance test conducted by JUIT, Waknaghat. Those who will qualify will then have to appear for a written test which will be conducted by the university. Those who have qualified in NET/SLET/UGC/CSIR (JRF) or equivalent national level examinations or are in receipt of fellowships like DST/DBT/DAE/CSIR/QIP/ ICMR/DRDO/ INSPIRE etc will be exempted from the entrance test.
