The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), has been constituted as a non profit organization with the express objective of engaging in activities for the promotion of education, training, research, professionalism and skill formation at all levels of the construction and other allied industries. Besides that, NICMAR’s objectives include undertaking special projects, collaboration with other organizations, dissemination of knowledge through seminars / conferences, etc; publishing literature, undertaking consultancy and taking necessary actions conducive to fulfillment of the objectives of the Society. Under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950, NICMAR was registered as a Public Trust in 1982. The NICMAR Society was constituted in 1984 and registered under the Societies’ Registration Act, 1860.
Educational Modes
NICMAR has been a pioneering Institute offering post graduate level education in specialized areas like construction management, project engineering and management, real estate management, infrastructure management and allied areas. NICMAR offers education through distance education and part time modes also.
NICMAR conducts executive development courses for a variety of organizations in construction and allied industries. These programmes are in a variety of modes including long duration programmes, medium duration programmes and short duration courses. Similarly, the programme focus could be function based, project based or business based. The long duration courses are modular in nature and most of the programmes are conducted on campus at Pune/Hyderabad(Shamirpet)/Goa(Farmagudi)/Indore/Delhi NCR(Bahadurgarh).
