AFMC to accept NEET Score for Admission from 2017

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune will accept AIPMT/NEET 2016 score for admission to MBBS programmes. Officials confirmed that there would be no separate entrance exam for the medical admissions. A candidate who wishes to seek admission to the MBBS course need to fulfill basic criteria like the candidate should be a citizen of India or be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan or any other foreign country with the intention of permanently settling in India. The aspirants must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.

It is important to note that the aspirants should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defence. The aspirants who wish to apply for the AFMC admissions must have attained the age of 17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application, but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date(Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations).

Earlier the admission to AFMC MBBS 2016 was done on the score which has been obtained in AIPMT/NEET 2016 added to the ToELR score divided by 4 to get a score out of 200. AFMC MBBS 2016 Final score will be equals to written examination score + Interview marks (50 marks). All candidates eligible for AIPMT/NEET 2016 are also eligible for AFMC MBBS 2016 Admission irrespective of their state of domicile.
