Speaking at the Maharashtra chapter of IIMC alumni meet - IFFCO Connections 2017, IIMC's Director General KG Suresh said that the project, in association with The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), will be operational within two years. He added that 1,600 trained professionals will enter the workforce annually.
National Centre for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics
As per a TOI report, a budget of Rs 200 crore has been fixed for the project. The institute will reportedly be named National Centre for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics. Announcing that the project, IIMC director general KG Suresh said 1600 trained professionals will enter the workforce annually. Suresh also said that various IIMC campuses will now work as regional centres.
Jammu will be the centre for north India while Kottayam, Dhenkanal, Amravati and Aizwal will be the centres in south, east, west and north-east respectively. This year, there are 12 alumni meets scheduled by Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA).
