Scope of NEET PG 2017

NEET PG for the medical aspirants will be conducted in the month of December while for the dental aspirants the exam will be conducted in the month of November. According to the official website of NEET PG, the admissions under All India 50 % Quota will be filled at all India level as per applicable regulations, using NEET-PG Merit position only. Under the state quota seats (Seats in Government Medical College owned and controlled by State government), the admission process is to be undertaken and completed by the concerned states/designated authority/ University using NEET -PG scores and as per applicable regulations and/ or their eligibility criteria, reservation policy, benefit for in-service candidates, rural posting etc.

Those who wish to pursue the NEET-PG 2017 are required to note that NEET PG is a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2017 which will include the following:

All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)

State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana).

MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country

MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.

DNB Broad specialty courses (January 2017 Admission Session)

For the MD/MS/PG Diploma seats in private colleges/universities, they will be filled at the institute level using NEET-PG scores and as per applicable regulations or their eligibility criteria, reservation policy etc. For the DNB courses broad speciality, the seats will be filled using NEET-PG scores through Merit Based Centralized counselling to be conducted by NBE. No state government /private medical college/universities including the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh shall be conducting any separate entrance exam for admission to their MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses for the academic session 2017-2018. AIIMS, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, JIPMER, Puducherry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum are some of the medical institutions are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET-PG for 2017 session. 

According to disclaimer, National Board of Examinations (NBE) does not edit /modify/alter any information entered by the candidates at the time of online registration under any circumstances. Candidates have the opportunity to make any correction in the information provided by them during online registration till the end of Registration Window i.e.  October 31,  2016. Any request for change in information thereafter will not be entertained and candidate(s) will have to approach the concerned counseling authority for the same. It cannot be warranted whether the concerned counseling authority shall allow the change or not. Therefore, aspirants are advised to exercise utmost caution for filling up correct details in registration system.

In 2012, NBE had successfully conducted NEET-PG for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for 2013 admission session on a computer based platform. In 2013, 2014 & 2015, NBE successfully conducted AIPGMEE for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for All India 50% quota seats and participating states/Universities/AFMS.
