Ph.D (Biotechnology) at IIFPT, Thanjavur

Thanjavur: The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India, functioning at Pudukkottai Road here, has invited applications for admission to the full time and regular Ph.D (Biotechnology) programme January Session 2018, in the research area of Food Biotechnology and affiliated to Bharathidasan University, Trichy.

 Applicant should have M.Sc/M.Tech in any one of Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/Chemistry/Microbiology/Agriculture/AgriculturalBiotechnolog/Plant Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Nutrition Biology/ Biological Science/ Food Science/ Food Technology/ Food Science Nutrition/ Food Science  Technology/ Food Process Engineering/Chemical Engineering or any allied discipline. Applicant should have qualified for M.Sc/M.Tech from any recognised university with a minimum CGPA of 5.51 out of 10.00 or 55% aggregate alone is eligible to apply Ph.D (Biotechnology) programme. However, the SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 % exemption from the prescribed minimum marks.

Before filling the online application form,applicants should keep ready, the soft copy of applicant's passport size photograph (3.5 x 3.5 cm less than 30 kb size) in .jpg format. It is mandatory for the applicant to give the correct e-mail ID and mobile number.

Application Fee isRs 600 for General/OBC-NCL and Rs300 for SC/ST Candidates. Payment should be made by Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking only at the appropriate link given at http://admissions.iifpt.edu.in/BioTechAdmissions/


Once the application is submitted, it cannot be edited again. A person should submit only one online application form for the program and submitting more than one will be subjected to rejection. Once the applicant is successfully registered, the Registration Number will be allotted for the submitted application form. The copy of filled-in submitted application form will be generated in .pdf format. Applicant can print the generated form (PDF).

The hard copy of the printed application form along with the necessary documents (self-attested photocopies of the certificates as mentioned in last page of the generated form (check list), with payment details, should reach ‘The Director, Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology, Pudukottai Road, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu-613005, latest by 17.11.2017, in an envelope with superscript, 'PhD (Biotechnology) 2017-18'
