MICA has received applications from students from diverse regions and fields. MICA has students from various academic backgrounds like engineering, commerce, dentistry, law, humanities, creative communication, consulting etc. from across the country. While announcing Admission for 2017-19, the Chairperson of Admissions, Dr. Shubhra P Gaur said, “The number of centers have been increased to cater to the increasing demand of students and reach out to students all over India. Students from cities like Allahabad, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Nagpur, Ranchi, Vadodara etc., will now be able to sit for the examination as per their own convenience, within their city.”

MICAT will be held twice this year also to provide two opportunities to the candidates to appear in MICAT in the same academic year, following which they will be shortlisted for further rounds of selection. MICAT-I will be conducted on December 11, 2016 followed by MICAT-II on 13th of February, 2017. Aspirants can register at the following link.  MICA was established in 1991 and  is the first residential institute in the country and perhaps also in the Asia-Pacific region, dedicated to creating Leadership in Strategic Marketing and Communication.

MICA is an autonomous, non-profit institution and offers a wide-range of academic programmes MICA now has three residential programs – the Post Graduate Programme (PGP), the Crafting Creative Communication (CCC) and the Fellow Programme in Management-Communications (FPM-C). MICA offers an AICTE approved PGDM-C, equivalent to an MBA with specializations in Marketing Research, Digital Communication Management, Brand Management, Media Management and Advertising Management.

MICA’s FPM-C [Fellow Programme in Management- Communications offers the  AICTE approved doctoral level programme that encourages both fundamental and applied research in the communication domain, with offerings in the sub-areas of Communication and Media, Communication and Marketing, Communication and Culture, and Communication and Social Change.  MICA also offers Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Crafting Creative Communication (CCC) churns out highly skilled professionals, with a high calibre for creative careers in Marketing Communications.

The Shortlisted candidates appear for MICA’s FPM Admission Test. The FPM Admission Test is a three-day process organised on the MICA campus, comprising of the Written Test (WT), a Group Discussion (GD), an Individual Presentation (IP) and a Personal Interview (PI). The Written Test will examine the candidate’s (communication) theoretical understanding, the ability to investigate a communication phenomenon and the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions. The WT will be descriptive in nature and is based on prescribed readings. Candidates shortlisted after the telephonic interviews will be sent the prescribed readings via email. They are required to read them critically. Candidates may bring copies of the readings to the WT as this is an open-book exam.
