CLAT 2017: Official notification to be released soon

The official notification for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2017 will shortly be released. All those who are interested in applying for the same, are required to keep a check at the official website www.clat.ac.in.

CLAT is an all-India entrance examination, conducted on rotation by 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA plus LLB) and one-year Master of Law (LLM) programme for the academic session 2016-17.

The official website of Common Law Admission Test 2017 (CLAT 2017) states:

'The Common Law Admission Test - 2016 office was closed as per CLAT - 2016 Calendar on July 6, 2016. The process for organising Common Law Admission Test - 2017 is in progress, the candidates are advised to visit CLAT official website www.clat.ac.in from December 2016 onwards for the information regarding CLAT - 2017'.


Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

UG programmes:

The candidates must have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination (students appearing can also apply), from a government-recognised board, with not less than 45 per cent marks (40 per cent in case of SC and ST candidates) as prescribed by the participating universities.

PG programmes:

The candidates must have completed 5-year integrated LLB programme or its equivalent degree, with not less than 55 per cent marks (50 per cent in case of SC and ST candidates), from a recognised university as prescribed by the participating universities.

CLAT exam is conducted by the 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) on a rotational basis. Last year, CLAT exam was conducted by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab. CLAT 2017 will be conducted completely online. The test paper consists of 200 questions which aspirants need to attempt in 2-hour duration.
