The All India Students’ Federation (AISF) has demanded that the government take measures to control educational agencies in the higher education system. The federation’s district meet, which concluded at Cherthala on Saturday, adopted a resolution which said that educational consultancies were cropping up with the ulterior aim of making money.
The agencies were exploiting students by charging exorbitant fees and keeping custody of students’ certificates without giving any acknowledgement. The authorities were not taking measures to control the erring agencies, the resolution said. The organisation also sought cancellation of affiliation of 30 self-financing engineering colleges which were found to have indulged in irregularities in the admission process.
