The Directorate of Education for Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi has issued a further notification yesterday stalling the nursery admissions in 285 Delhi schools built on public land. The DoE had issued a notification on December 19, 2016 suggesting the key guidelines and dates for nursery admission in Delhi. The same circular had asked 285 schools built on public land to stall the admission process till further notification. In spite of the circular, many schools on the list had issued advertisements regarding start of nursery admissions. Following the same, the DoE has issued a further circular on Dec. 30, that clearly states that no nursery admissions for 2017-18 batch in the listed 285 Delhi Schools would start from Monday Jan. 2. The other private schools, however, can start the nursery admission from Jan. 2, 2017. Complete list of schools is provided below.
The circular lists prominent Schools in Delhi like Delhi Public School, (Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini); G.D Goenka Public School (Paschim Vihar, Rohini, Dwarka, Sarita Vihar); DAV Public School.The circular clearly states that these private unaided schools would have to make a provision of accommodating 75 percent of the students from the vicinity as they have been allotted land by DDA/L&DO. Furthermore, these schools shall not refuse admission to students from the vicinity. The circular dated 30 Dec. 2016 is uploaded on the website has the complete list of schools that are barred from starting the nursery admission from Monday.Parents are advised against filling the application forms in these schools till the release of a notification regarding these admissions. As for the other schools, not listed in the circular, the admission process would start from Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 and would close on Mar. 31. The last date to fill the application forms would be 23 Jan. 2017.
