GBU admission process begins: 5 new courses, online fee payment

The Gautam Buddha University (GBU) has introduced five new under-graduate and post-graduate courses for the upcoming academic session 2017-2018.

52 more seats have been added making the total number of seats available in different courses as 1905.

'The university will offer 30 seats each in BA (Hons) in English, BA (Hons) in Political Science, Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), LL.M and 45 seats in M.Sc in Biotechnology,' Vice Chancellor JP Sharma said while addressing media-persons on Tuesday.

The GBU has also added seven new test centres in six states including Allahabad (UP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Faizabad (UP), Hisar (Haryana), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), Rudrapur (Uttrakhand).

GBU now has total 23 centres across the country including Delhi (north), Delhi (south), Ghaziabad, Greater Noida (GBU), Noida in the NCR region.

The students will also be able to upload their qualification certificates, category advantage certificates like caste certificate, participation certificate in national/international events in case they want to apply for sports quota, etc.

Application forms for all the courses can be downloaded from the website http://www.gbu.ac.in/ and the last date of online submission for completely-filled application forms for different UG, PG and doctoral programmes is May 10, 2017.

GBU conducts a General Proficiency Test for Undergraduates (GPTU) for admission to integrated dual degree B.Tech. - M.Tech. / MBA (Engineering, ICT, Biotechnology, Food Processing and Technology), Integrated Dual Degree BBA-MBA and four-year programmes of BA.LLB and B.Tech Information Technology (IT).

Similarly, those applying for M.Tech (Information and Communication Technology / Computer Science / Electronics and Communication Engineering), M.Tech. (Biotechnology), M.Tech. (Food Processing and Technology), MBA, LL.M, M.Phil, (Clinical Psychology) and Master in Disability Rehabilitation and Administration (MDRA), will have to give a General Proficiency Test for Postgraduates (GPT).

For all doctoral programmes, applicants will have to give the GPTR (General Proficiency Test for Research).

All the three kind of tests will be held on May 28 this year and admit cards for the same can be downloaded by candidates from the website from May 18.

The results for all the tests will be announced on June 5.

 

For candidates of general category and OBC, a fee of Rs 1200 will be applicable for appearing in the tests while for the SC/ST candidates from UP will have to pay Rs. 600 as admission fee.

This can be paid online through Debit/Credit Card/ Net Banking. If paying through a demand draft, the details for the same will have to be uploaded online during online submission of application form.

GBU also offers direct admission, i.e, without test and interview, for other programmes: BA (Hons), Bachelor of Social Work , BA(Hons) -MA (with exit option), B.Sc, B. Architecture, MA, M.Sc, Masters of Social Work, M.Phil (Buddhist Studies).

For these, last date of submission of online application form is July 17. An application fee of Rs. 600 for General/OBC applicants and Rs. 300 for SC/ST applicants from UP will be charged.
