The Magadh University (MU) administration on Wednesday disaffiliated 64 colleges in seven districts of south Bihar, including Patna and Nalanda. The list of those colleges would be uploaded to the university website shortly.
The university has identified 34 colleges that lack the minimum requirements for teaching and learning. Earlier, the state government refused to grant affiliation to such colleges.
Announcing the decision, MU vice-chancellor Prof Qamar Ahsan said the students already enrolled in the 2016-17 session in these colleges would be adopted by the university. Arrangements would be made for the education and examination of such college students. Admission in these colleges has been banned from 2017-18 session.
