The Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a non-profit organisation which focuses on the advancement of women in computing and technology, has announced 200 scholarships awarded to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD female students from Computing and IT, across India. The scholarships provide students an opportunity to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) 2016 conference between December 7 and 9 this year, in Bengaluru.

The scholarships cover expenses associated with attending the GHCI conference, including the registration fee, meals and lodging for each recipient. Travel (by train or bus) is reimbursed up to Rs 2,000 for each recipient.

GHCI is the largest gathering of India’s women technologists and is expected to attract over 3,000 participants from the industry, academia, and government. Here, the winners will have the opportunity to meet experienced professionals for career guidance and get inspired by role models.

ABI India offers the GHCI scholarships to inspire, connect and guide young talented women from technical backgrounds and provide them with an opportunity to build rewarding careers in technology.

Scholarship recipients also get access to GHCI’s Student Career Fair (for women students only), where bright students can meet top recruiters from global technology companies. Students can explore internships as well as full-time job opportunities. Visithttp://ghcindia.anitaborg.org/ghci-2016-sponsors/to see the list of organisations present at the Student Career Fair.
